Featured Equipment We Often Use
Here at our clinic, we have a wide variety of techniques and tools we can use to help you regain your mobility. Here is some of the equipment we can use to help you:
ICARE Intelligently Assistive Rehabilitation Elliptical
At our physical therapy clinic, we utilize the Intelligently Controlled Assistive Rehabilitation Elliptical trainer, also known as ICARE.
Developed by a company called Madonna, this cutting-edge technology was developed under a grant from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research to help physically challenged individuals and those with chronic conditions regain or retain their walking ability and levels of physical fitness.
Our physical therapists use ICARE to help clients build strength, mobility, control, and endurance so that they can walk and move more easily. This piece of equipment has been instrumental in helping our clients achieve their rehabilitation goals and regain their independence.

Functional Electrical Stimulation Cycling (FES Bike)
Our physical therapy clinic also uses Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Cycling to help individuals with neurological conditions. FES applies electrical pulses to stimulate motor neurons or denervated muscle fibers directly to elicit a contraction during a functional activity. This technique has a long-standing history for its treatment of such conditions.
FES Cycling applies electrical stimulation to muscles and/or nerves to contract the muscles associated with cycling. The FES bicycle detects changes in the muscle’s power output and activates a motor when the muscles begin to fatigue to assist in cycling. FES Cycling may maximize the amount of function that is recovered through activity-dependent neuroplasticity as a result of the repeated exposure and stimulation of the nerves and muscles during the activity.
